From the time Hats off to Dreams (HOTD) announced their formation to their smashing debut on Curaçaoan carnival scene in 2018, Sand and Stilettos has gotten a front row seat to see this group come to life as costume sketches and piles of rhinestones turned into elaborate headpieces and sweeping capes. The parades are really the final leg of a journey that starts months (even years) before a single stitch has been sewn or one musical note has been written and the novelty of being invited along as an Instagram Storyteller to capture this group of carnival disruptors’ incredible vision never wears off!

Capturing the story behind-the-scenes during the highly anticipated costume reveal and being approached by NOS (the Dutch national news network) to coordinate getting HOTD footage for their carnival coverage are just a couple examples of collaboration we have under our belts.
